Title:  Quality Assurance Inspector 1st Shift

Summary:  The Quality Assurance Inspector works throughout the manufacturing areas assigned to verify product is acceptable for use, while segregated non-conforming material to prevent unintended use. The role is responsible to document and communicate results per company requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  The Quality Assurance Inspector must perform the essential duties as described. These duties are representative of the daily responsibilities of the position, and other duties may be required.   • Perform quality assessments on incoming, in-process, and finished goods against documented criteria.
  • Document results of assessments in appropriate systems.
  • Approve conforming materials for use.
  • Reject non-conforming materials and segregate materials to prevent use.
  • Communicate discrepancies and work with affected departments to resolve issues.
  • Ensures all measurement devices are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists the Quality Manager as necessary to ensure proper functionality of the Quality Management System, including auditing of processes.
  • Participates in 5S and continual improvement initiatives.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.

 

Qualifications:  The requirements listed below represent the minimum knowledge, skill, and ability required.

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and standards.
  • Proficient in use of basic metrology tools and gages.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including punching, bending, welding, machining, powder coating, painting, industrial electrical panels, brazing and assembly
  • Familiarity with appropriate ANSI, ASTM, ISO, DIN, and other standards for defining, measuring, and documenting conformity to requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze test and inspection results to ensure conformity.
  • Demonstrated ability regarding attention to detail and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and problem solve.

 

Education/Experience: 

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of (5) years related manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control field.
  • Computer skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Proficient in the use of basic measurement tools and devices.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to perform basic algebraic functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
