Summary:

Assist painters in the painting process by performing the following duties in reasonable and productive time frames:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to read and understand Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS) and Technical Data Safety Sheets on all painting materials within 60 days of hire.
  • Must be familiar with safe storage, handling, and disposal of painting materials and other hazardous waste within 60 days of hire.
  • Must be familiar with the storage, care, handling, and use of breathing equipment.
  • Cleans grease and dirt from product.
  • Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
  • Removes rust from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must complete and pass respiratory program prior to performing tasks related to mixing or applying chemicals or powder.  The employee must be able to maintain a passing status in this program.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.
  • Ability to read and understand English instructions.
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers & common fractions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to walk and climb or balance.  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds safely.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Intermittent or repeated use of hand tools and power tools is necessary.  Must pass a physical examination by a physician to be medically cleared for use of a respirator.

 

 

Hourly Rate: $19 - $21 (Plus $3/hour shift differential)
