Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Summary: Researches, develops, designs and tests mechanical/electromechancial products and systems, related to commercial HVAC equipment. Also directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical/electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Bill of Material configuration design support for engineering assistants
- Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
- Provides support for generating technical information for sales literature and application questions
- Provides mechanical design of products/heat transfer systems such as chilled water systems, air/water cooled refrigerant systems, and fluid pumping systems in accordance with engineering design standards and customer specifications
- Provides all engineering documentation related to the mechanical design of HVAC equipment such as design spreadsheets, bill of materials, piping drawings and mechanical drawings
- 3D CAD design/modeling basics (SolidWorks and/or sheet metal design knowledge preferred)
- ISO 9001 knowledge strongly preferred
- Designs test control apparatus and equipment and develops methods and procedures for testing products or systems
- Provides appropriate documentation and support to ensure that manufacturing and operational testing conform to functional specifications, customer requirements, and NEC/UL code requirements
- Review products to confirm that they are designed and manufactured in accordance with the National Electric Code, UL1995, unit listing reports, and other applicable standards
- Perform simple structural and heat transfer analysis
- Perform simple structural analysis and load calculations
- Creates installation, operation, maintenance and repair documentation for products or systems
- Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
- Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
- 3 years of experience in performing mechanical engineering duties
- Experience in commercial AC or related field
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- HVAC experience required
- Thermal experience preferred, but not required
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000
