Summary: The HR Assistant- Payroll & Benefits is responsible for assisting the Payroll & Benefits Administrator with all aspects of company payroll processing and administration of the company benefits and leave plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with reviewing and approving employee data changes, timesheets, and other records affecting wages to ensure accuracy of payroll
  • Serves as back-up for complete payroll processing when necessary
  • Responds to state unemployment filings and employment verification requests
  • Assists employees with payroll and benefits-related inquiries
  • Coordinates all activities related to the employee Wellness Plan, including calendar of events, announcements, compliance tracking, and wellness portal assistance
  • Other HR administrative duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • 2-year degree or certification in an applicable field
  • 2+ years working in an HR/Payroll department
  • Previous experience processing payroll
  • Understanding of payroll laws and regulations
  • SAP experience strongly desired
  • Experience with employee benefit and wellness plans

 

Hourly Rate: $20 - $25/hour
