SUMMARY:  Assembles and routes jobs for the Production floor, loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site, and fills production material needs by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Must be forklift certified and able to operate forklifts and electrically powered devices needed for moving materials, while maintaining certification.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
  • Locate and stock received materials, rotating the inventory by receipt date in accordance with the warehouse procedures.
  • Lift heavy objects by hand or with appropriate lifting aid devices, and maintain a clean work area.
  • Work under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager on continuous improvement projects within the warehouse.
  • Label items accurately and provide input on efficiency obstacles.
  • Maintain inventory records and assist with Planning and Production Reports
  • Fulfill Manufacturing Orders shortages and Engineering Change Orders.
  • Follow the Supervisor’s oral instructions or work schedule to determine which materials or containers need to be moved to fulfill “Manufacturing Orders”.
  • Assist with daily cycle counts in the “stock count” module, creating and conducting cycle counts as issues arise with production and various departments.
  • Assist in posting all transactions related to inventory, transfers, adjustments, and variances with a basic understanding of rejection tags, views of all sites, and quantities on hand (QOH) balances.
  • Pull jobs and assist with receiving and shipping as needed, following warehouse procedures.
  • Participate in the yearly Physical Inventory and ongoing cycle counts to resolve discrepancies. The goal is to understand why counts are incorrect so procedures can be corrected to avoid future discrepancies.
  • Assist with incoming shipments, counting, labeling, and entering data into the system.
    Processes customer returns (RMAs), working with the quality department to determine where returned material should be placed, and communicating with Product Support/ Customer Service if any necessary information is missing from the return.
  • Maintain the accuracy of defect material sites both physically and in the computer system. This includes periodic cycle counts of the defect site and reconciling any discrepancies found during these counts.
  • Review open QA notifications, which includes understanding how to access QA notifications and update them if necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS: This position relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the warehouse area is necessary, along with the ability to perform a variety of tasks. A willingness to learn more about the ERP system is expected. This role works under immediate supervision and reports to the Warehouse Manager.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be forklift certified
  • Must complete and pass a forklift safety program prior to performing tasks any warehouse-related tasks

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One year experience with forklifts and/or electrically-powered devices and certification.
  • One year of work experience in Warehouse and or material handling.
  • Minimum level of computer knowledge required.

 

Hourly Rate: Starting at $19/hour
