Title: Procurement Specialist I
Summary:
Procures manufacturing materials and MRO (maintenance, repair and operating) items and supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Procures materials through manufacturers and/or their designated representatives, OEM’s, and other suppliers as necessary.
- Expedites purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and acceptable supplier performance.
- Responsible for the negotiation of price and best overall cost position, terms, and delivery of all manufacturing and MRO sourced items.
- Assists in monitoring and tracking vendor performance through product performance, customer satisfaction surveys, and customer outreach.
- Ability to maintain acceptable inventory levels within guidelines while providing for an uninterrupted flow of materials.
- Maintains ITEM master file data for primary and secondary vendors, vendor part numbers, lead times, cost structures, unit of measure and pricing discounts/structure.
- Reviews and analyzes the MRP exception report and works to resolve open issues with the vendor and the specific internal STULZ department/area affected.
- Plans material requirements based upon analysis of MRP recommendations, as well as closely coordinates with Planning, Sales, Engineering, Production, Maintenance and Marketing departments to ensure forecasting accuracy, alignment and fit.
- Manage non-conformance materials (contacting vendor, processing RMAs, receiving credits or replacements.
- Works collaboratively with department team members in the development and formation of strategic sourcing agreements.
- Communicates material exceptions promptly to avoid operational interruptions.
- Maintains active working relationship with established vendors

Education/Experience:
- BS or BA degree in related field preferred.
- 2 - 4 years Procurement experience.
- High level of commitment to customer service and teamwork.
- SAP experience preferred; MRP experience a must.
- Experience in all aspects of purchasing in an Industrial/Manufacturing environment.
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of the STULZ business model and understand the role and impact of procurement in that model.
- Must have sourcing, negotiation, expediting, interpersonal, cost analysis and problem resolution skills.
- Analytical computer skills with Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel.
- Must be detail oriented and familiar with engineering specifications and drawings/prints.
Language Skills:
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with fellow employees and vendors.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
