Title:  Powder Coater Helper - 2nd shift

Summary:

Prepares surfaces of machines and manufactured products to be powdercoated by performing the following duties in reasonable and productive time frames:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be familiar with the storage, care, handling, and use of breathing equipment.
• Cleans grease and dirt from product.
• Cleans application equipment.
• Removes rust from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool.
• Hangs materials to trolley into booth for coating.
• Labels finished materials with correct part numbers, for delivery to stock.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Must complete and pass respiratory program prior to performing tasks related to mixing or applying chemicals or powder.  The employee must be able to maintain a passing status in this program.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.
• Ability to read and understand English instructions.
• Ability to speak effectively with employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers & common fractions.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
