Title:  Inventory Cycle Counter

Summary:

The Cycle Counter/Material Handler is responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory, performing cycle count duties, and storing and moving material to ensure accurate inventory control. This position reports to the Warehouse department but will take daily direction from the Material Control Lead.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cycle counts raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods
  • Ensure materials are in proper locations and conduct searches to locate misclassified inventory
  • Perform daily cycle counts
  • Organize and clean as material is being counted
  • Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity
  • Monitor that FIFO is being practiced
  • Maintain product identification, location, and lot code accuracy
  • Consolidate multiple SAP bin locations and maintain the ERP default bins
  • Research inventory discrepancies
  • Investigate the root cause of inventory discrepancies
  • Recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Work with Warehouse and Inventory Control Management to resolve inventory problems in a timely manner
  • Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items and/or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand
  • Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products
  • Loading, unloading, identifying, labeling, and putting away of inbound material
  • Pick, pull, and distribute material to appropriate warehouse locations to support manufacturing and order fulfillment

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years’ work experience as a cycle counter (preferred)
  • Inventory control: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Forklift experience, picker
  • Prior warehouse/inventory experience
  • SAP WM/MRP/ERP system (preferred)

 

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand English instructions.

 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Strong math skills
  • Conversion to the lowest unit of measure and calculating the price

 

Physical Requirements:

  • General warehouse cleanup and housekeeping
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, run, squat, and on occasion, lift up to 35-40 lbs.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse and manufacturing environment. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

 

Hourly Rate: $19 - $22
