Title:  Contracts Specialist II

Summary:
A mid-level role responsible for independently reviewing contracts, supporting legal collaboration, and managing complex documentation, compliance, and reporting tasks. This position serves as a key liaison between internal departments and customers, providing contractual and procedural guidance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently review and analyze complex contracts, including NDAs, master agreements, and government contracts.
  • Lead the contract review process for customer purchase orders, ensuring terms align with company policy and project delivery schedules.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks related to warranty, delivery timelines, and supplier terms.
  • Manage compliance matters, including pre-qualification documentation and bidding packages.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—Sales, Procurement, Applications and Engineering—to ensure alignment of contractual and operational requirements.
  • Support General Counsel with negotiation summaries, redline analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Lead the certificate of insurance process and ensure timely renewals.
  • Develop and maintain advanced departmental reports and KPIs.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Contract Specialist I.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Contracts Manager or General Counsel.
  • Utilize ERP/SAP and Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, communication, and data tracking.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of contract-related experience.
  • Paralegal certificate or experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and negotiate contract terms.

 

Compensation Range (Frederick, MD):

  • Low: $70,000
  • Average: $95,000
  • High: $120,000
