Title:  Applications Engineer I, II, or III

Description: 

SUMMARY: Provide advanced engineering support for precision air conditioning and Ultrasonic Humidification product lines. Research and develop mechanical/electro-mechanical products and systems related to commercial HVAC and humidification equipment. Assists sales staff with custom equipment selection and design. Provide consulting enginners with technical product data. Use thermodynamic modeling software to select coils, compressors, etc, for custom HVAC designs.   

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of the design or application
  • Provides support for generating technical information for sales literature and application questions
  • Assists consulting engineers with equipment selection and provides unit information.
  • Creates installation, operation, maintenance, and repair documentation for products or systems
  • Respond to customer requests to provide technical support and guidance with product selection for all air conditioning and humidification product lines 
  • Provide engineering design support for custom equipment to include component selection and prototype testing.   
  • Provide assistance to sales representatives by assisting in the unit selection and project submittal process
  • Provide AC system performance runs utilizing application programs.
  • Assist Regional Sales Managers and Sales Reps with both in-house and outside customer presentations and product demonstrations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited school is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow
  • Electrical 3-phase and 1-phase system knowledge is a plus
  • Some HVAC experience or coursework is a plus  

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English
  • Ability to follow both written and oral instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees of the Stulz organization and customers

 

REASONING ABILITY: 

  • Must be capable of researching, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex problems while generating potential solutions
  • Must methodically evaluate each solution and determine the best course of action based on standard practice, time, cost, and safety concerns
