Title:  Traffic Coordinator

Summary:

 

Coordinates daily shipments with freight carriers and works with customer service to meet customer requirements. Also works with production to coordinate pickups to coincide with production completions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must have excellent communications skills when dealing with freight carriers, customers, etc. 
  • Must be able to use Excel, Word, Great Plains and other associated computer programs.
  • Required to take care of all necessary paperwork and associated data entry for daily shipments.
  • Ability to work well with sales and accounting on shipping and traffic related issues.
  • Provide rate quotes and other traffic related assistance to other departments.
  • Must be able to maintain good relationships with freight carriers to acquire the best possible service at the best price.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
